and it is also available on mobile devices. Mubi is a production and film distributor company. It was

launched on 14 February 2007.  And the inspiration for making this platform was that its owner EFE

Cakarel was in a cafe and there he could not watch a movie called “In the Mood for Love” online. And at


that time he got the idea to make a movie streaming platform. 

This platform's first name was Auteurs; in 2010, it was changed to Mubi.

In the beginning, Mubi used to provide Movies on Demand and was partnered with the company called

Criterion Collection.

Process of Activation Mubi on Smart TV

Mubi can be run on various Smart TV platforms. Before initiating the process of activation you must

install the application MUBI on your smart TV.  After installation you have to follow the steps given

below:

1. Click and Open the app, and then select any movie of your choice.

2. Click on the play button of the selected movie.


3. After that, your activation page will be displayed, and on that, there will be 6-digit activation

code.

4. On the activation screen, there will be a link written, and that link you have to open through

your PC.

5. Make sure that the Mubi application is also active on the TV screen.

6. After opening the link on your PC you have to enter the code that has been displayed on the TV

screen. 

7. Then tap on Activate button, after this, you will receive a confirmation message, just then click

on the confirmation message to confirm it.

Now your MUBI is activated on your Smart TV and you can watch your desired movies freely.

Activation Process for Apple TV

1. Open the MUBI application and then select the movie you want to stream. 

2. Then two options will be displayed named “Log-In”, and “Start Subscription”

3. Click on “Log-In”.

4. Now, a message will be displayed saying “Welcome Back”

5. Below that you will be asked to enter your details. There you have to enter your email address

and password.

6. Click on the text box of the email and select the previously used email and then enter your

password.  

7. If you do not see your email ID there, then enter your id manually. 

8. After entering the email ID, you will receive a confirmation stating that you have been logged in

successfully.

Mubi also acquired a company called The Match Factory in the year January 2022, which is an

International sales and production company. Mubi has also produced the Maniac Cop web series. Two

original podcasts were also released by Mubi. Therefore, Mubi has a vast variety of movies to entertain
